Why I Post Late At Night And On Sundays
by Jamison Koehler on February 4, 2014
Ever since Google discontinued its reader, I have relied on “Feedly” for my daily dose of blog reading. You enter the URLs for all of the blogs you want to follow into the system, and Feedly organizes the “feeds” for you. Three entries are highlighted at the top of the page under “top stories.” The rest are listed chronologically below that under “today” and “yesterday.”
I do not know how Feedly decides which of the entries will be featured at the top of the page, but I imagine it has something to do with a blog’s circulation and how many people subscribe to its feed. For example, Seth Godin and Simple Justice are always listed under “top stories” and they remain there for days. My entries are automatically dropped to the lower tier — except when I have the good sense to post late at night or on Sundays.
Because, dagnabbit, these are the things that really matter.
