by Jamison Koehler on February 1, 2011

Police have released the name of the man who was shot on Friday after he robbed a bank in Takoma Park, Maryland and then tried to escape with a bank teller as his hostage. The man has been identified as 43-year-old Carlos R.E. Arcia of Hyattsville.

According to the Washington Post, the police had not been able to make an immediate identification. A co-worker of Arcia called the police on Sunday after Arcia failed to show up for work for two days. Arcia’s landlord had also filed a missing-person report.

Warning: The video below includes the very disturbing image of Mr. Arcia being shot by police officers.

  1. Jamison, although it doesn’t bother me personally, I’m a little surprised you would post a video showing someone being shot to death without a warning. It might be disturbing to your more sensitive readers.
You DO have sensitive readers, don’t you? 😉
